13 Easy Makeup Tricks To Get Out The Door Sooner!

Using these backstage tips, getting your face ready will not only cause you less stress (fewer wrinkles!), you'll find yourself out the door sooner!

1.

Orange tones found in a cover-up in a peach shade help disguise any under-eye darkness immediately. Gently pat using your ring finger, because it's the most gentle finger and will not pull at your skin. Then get moving!

2. Use a wine colored lipstick applied with an eyeshadow brush for a soft, diffused appearance.

If you do not want an entirely burgundy lip color/gloss, take an eyeshadow brush and buff the color once applied! This buffing method creates more of a diffused, natural appearance.

3. Blot or powder away shine on the sides of the nose to make your face less puffy.

When you're applying makeup in the hot summer months, pretend there's a triangle. Then, using the just the tip nearest to your tear duct and the foundation only gently hitting the cheek, the area that you need to blot with blotting papers or powder. Doing so removes any of the unwanted shine that can reflect light or contribute to any undesirable fullness in your face. This is especially important if you'll be appearing in photos!

4. When applying the tail of your cat-eye, keep your eyes open!

Keeping your eyes open instead of closed allows you to see just how the tail will look when your eyes are open!

Often, when you apply a cat-eye look your eyes closed, it may appear imperfect when you then open your eyes. Nail your '60s-inspired look the first attempt by keeping your eyes open. Then, once you draw the line, you'll know its placed precisely where you want it to be.

5. Apply bronzer at a triangular form in your lips to get a naturally glowy or flushed look.

Pretend there's a triangle at the base of your cheekbone. Then, along with the point nearest your jawline, buff the bronzer onto your skin in this formation. This method allows the most natural application because it places the bronzer directly where your lips naturally flush. Be sure to mix using your bronzer brush to avoid any unattractive distinct lines.

6. Use a brown ash liner as your everyday shade instead of black.

Everyone looks glamourous sporting a brown ash liner because it functions with any eye color or shape. Black can occasionally be inappropriately too rock n' roll or tough looking. Despite popular belief, black is unflattering on most girls. On the other hand, ashy brown color is a glamorous all flattering shade that adds dimension to anyone's features.

7. With lip balm, you can turn your regular eyeshadow into a glossy one

Using a lip balm, swipe over your eyelids for a new, glowy look. Do this after you've applied your powder eyeshadow to alter the formula. Apply the balm to your fingers. Then pat over your eyelids. VoilĂ  a glowy, glossy look!

8. Create your own DIY colored mascara using only a colored eyeshadow.

Don't have any colored mascara in your makeup drawer? Don't worry! Make your own DIY colored mascara by applying your regular mascara. While it's still wet, gently brush the colored eyeshadow of your choice over the top to make it appear as if you're wearing a colored mascara!

9. Fill on your brow arches flawlessly with a small straight-edged brush.

Use a thin eyebrow brush or even a paintbrush if that's what you have, and try not to let the eyebrow powder get onto your skin! The combination of using the small brow brush/paintbrush to make thin, gentle strokes (think feathers!) and preventing the product from getting on your skin will make your brows look amazing but natural!

10. Mix concealer with golden cream eyeshadow to apply to the inner eye.

Try mixing your usual concealer with a tiny bit of golden cream eyeshadow onto the back of your hand, try patting your fingertips with the mix and gently applying it at the interior corners of your eyes. The blend looks like a highlight and provides a subtle glow that will also remove all signs of sleep deprivation.

11. Get any eyeliner shape using a black cream liner, cotton swabs, and whatever balm you have around.

Unsteady hands keeping you from being able to get the eyeliner shape you want? A trick: take a mild eyeshadow brush and then apply the cream liner to your eye. After, take a cotton swab or multiple!  that has been coated with balm at the tip, and shape the lining into whatever shape you desire. This method might require a few cotton swabs tips, but you'll find it is a lot easier to control the look of the liner this way.

12. Appear sunkissed with a brown lipstick instead of bronzer.

Over the surface of your hand, apply the brown shade lipstick. Then, warm the formula using your palms. After, coat your fingertips with the warmed lipstick. Finally, tap the blend onto your face anywhere the sun hits or anywhere you'd usually apply bronzer (like your forehead, nose, tops of your cheeks, and chin), and using an eyebrow brush, blend! You'll find that the brown lipstick provides a more natural looking glow than that of your usual powder or bronzer. Give it a try :)

13. Contour by vertically positioning your bronzer or blush brush so that the bristles hit ONLY underneath the cheekbone.

By holding the blush or bronzer brush vertically, you allow the bristles to use just the perfect amount of powder or cream cheek color exactly where it needs to be applied to look natural: under the cheekbone! When you hold the brush horizontally as most of us do, you can too easily apply an excessive amount of the product causing your cheek color to look unnatural.
